1. Who we are

Billing POS ("we", "us", "our") builds and operates the Billing POS offline billing and shop-management application for local shops and kirana stores, its companion admin portal, and this website. This policy explains what information we collect through the app and this website, and how we use it.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • When you register a shop in the app: shop name, owner name, phone number, email address, and shop address.
  • When you subscribe to a paid plan: your subscription and payment status (which plan, amount, and whether a payment succeeded) — we do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves; those are handled directly by our payment processor, Razorpay (see Section 4).
  • When you contact us (via this website's contact form, phone, or WhatsApp): your name, shop name, phone number, and whatever you tell us in your message.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic device information from the app (operating system, app version) so we can support you and detect device-related issues.
  • Anonymous, aggregate visit statistics on this website (pages viewed, general location by country) if analytics is enabled — see Section 6.

What we do not collect

Your shop's actual business data — the products, sales, customers, stock, and expenses you manage inside the Billing POS app — is stored entirely on your own PC. It is never uploaded to us, and we have no access to it. This is a core design principle of the app, not just a policy statement — see the app's own documentation for how this works technically.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and operate your shop's account, license, and subscription.
  • To process subscription payments and keep your billing status accurate.
  • To provide support when you contact us.
  • To send you service-related communication (e.g. a trial-ending reminder, a payment receipt, a response to your enquiry).
  • To improve the app and this website.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Who we share information with

  • Razorpay — our payment gateway, to process subscription payments. Razorpay has its own privacy policy governing the payment details you give it directly.
  • Supabase — our backend infrastructure provider, which hosts the database and servers that store the account/subscription information described above.
  • WhatsApp — only if you use the app's optional backup-to-WhatsApp feature, or if you choose to contact us via WhatsApp. This is always something you initiate.

We do not share your information with anyone else except where required by law.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and subscription information for as long as your shop's account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting, legal, and support purposes. You can ask us to delete your account information at any time (see Section 8) — this does not affect your shop's business data, which was never in our possession to begin with.

6. Cookies and analytics

This website may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find us. Any analytics in use here does not track you individually across other websites and does not require a cookie-consent banner because it does not use tracking cookies.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the account information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit and role-based access controls on our backend. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about your shop's account at any time by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children's privacy

Billing POS is a business tool intended for shop owners and staff, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the app and website evolve. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
